Summer is generally a more relaxed time of year and starting something new is less frustrating and more enjoyable. During summer you do not have to worry about school and homework, so learning a musical instrument can prove to be fun.

Summertime gives you a chance to try music lessons by giving it your all. Your mind is not cluttered with science projects or book reports and you will be able to concentrate on what is being taught. If you really like the instrument, then continuing into the school year is easier, and actually gives you something to look forward to.

JUNE-JULY-AUGUST

CONTINUING STUDENTS: Summer lessons are included in your tuition. Continuing your music study in the summer will keep your skills fresh, and your motivation high. Weekly teaching schedules remain the same through June and July (see Conservatory Policies for summer make-up workshop schedules).

NEW STUDENT ACTIVITIES: Summer is a great time to try a new instrument or new music class. Students can decide if they want to continue with music study in the Fall, and get a jump-start on learning.

Our FLOWER MOUND location (in Parker Square) serves our surrounding communities of Lewisville, Highland Village, Argyle, Copper Canyon, Double Oak, Bartonville, Grapevine and Coppell.

Our FRISCO location (Preston at Main Street) serves our surrounding communities of Plano, Allen, McKinney, Celina, Prosper, Little Elm, The Colony and Dallas.

Piano for Little Folks - 4 year olds

This is a fun active class that introduces music notation, finger numbers, counting and rhythms plus keyboard skills. Materials include a song book and workbook. 7 classes taught over two weeks.

Keyboard Introduction - ages 5 to 12 or adult class

This class is for new students who want to try out the piano lab before enrolling in August. Learn the basics of reading music, understanding rhythm & creating a musical performance. Materials include lesson book & theory workbook. 7 classes taught in two weeks (Adult section meets once each week over 7 weeks, call for schedule).

Guitar Introduction - 7 to 11 year olds

This class is for beginners focusing on introduction to music reading, melody playing, chords & strumming, basic skills & techniques. Individual instruction and ensemble playing. Final class is a short performance. Materials include book, CD, handouts. 7 classes taught over two weeks.

Summer Singers Movie Musicals - 6 to 10 year olds

This class will focus on the songs of favorite movie tunes from Disney Classics, movie blockbusters, childhood favorites and more! Learn correct vocal technique, songs & warmups, breathing exercises, etc. Final class is a short performance. 7 classes taught over two weeks.

Private Lessons - all ages & levels

Piano, Guitar, Electric Guitar, Electric Bass, Mandolin, Banjo, Voice, Flute, Violin, Cello and Drums. Six summer lessons either 30 minute or 60 minute sessions available. Choose your schedule based on availability.

DayRockerZ - 10 to 15 year olds
