Summer 2010 Sessions Filling Fast!!! July 12-16, July 26-30 and August 9-13
What goes on each day?
The camp is run like a standard music camp, however the emphasis is on rock music instead of marching band, jazz or classical. Students are assigned to a band on the first day after an assessment. The bands rehearse together and in sections during the week. Students attend classes covering instrumental technique, composition, music theory, music history, rehearsal techniques, ensemble skills, rock moves, band marketing and performance practice. Bands work on the skills necessary to learn classic and contemporary rock songs, and compose their own original band tune.
The Rock Concert.
On the last afternoon of camp, the bands perform their original tune and one or more cover tunes at a high-energy rock concert on a professional stage with lights and sound. Family and friends are invited to cheer them on!
About the staff.
We have a very dedicated, highly skilled and educated staff, made up of professional musician/educators who are members of the MCOT teaching faculty. The minimum age for staff is 21.
